In the clinic sector, we're often asked: how long does it actually take for a brand-new clinic with zero organic presence to see results from SEO? The answer isn't always "one year."
This is the story of Bettermove — a physiotherapy clinic in Bangkok's Silom/Sathorn district that started from scratch in October 2025 and hit an all-time traffic record in March 2026 with 1,359 organic clicks per month. That's 13x growth in 5 months.
Where It Started: A New Clinic Google Didn't Know Existed
Bettermove launched with a brand-new website that had never seen traffic before. Organic clicks in month one sat at 101 — and dipped to 95 the following week before the SEO strategy started taking hold.
For a new clinic in a competitive area like Silom/Sathorn, where several physiotherapy clinics have opened in recent years, ranking quickly isn't realistic without a clear plan.
The 3-Part Approach We Actually Used
1. Technical SEO Foundation — Before Anything Else
Before publishing a single piece of content, we audited and fixed every technical fundamental: Core Web Vitals, schema markup (MedicalClinic + MedicalProcedure), sitemap.xml, robots.txt, internal linking structure, and full Search Console validation across every URL.
For clinics, Medical schema carries extra weight. Google applies higher E-E-A-T standards to health-related content, and the right schema helps Google understand that this is a real clinic, with real practitioners, offering specific treatments — not just another keyword-stuffed page.
2. Local SEO Targeted at Silom and Sathorn
Not everyone searching "physiotherapy" will become a Bettermove patient. The people who will actually walk in are those who live or work within a 3–5 km radius. So we focused on local keywords first.
The pages we built targeted area-specific searches like "physiotherapy Sathorn," "Western acupuncture Sathorn," and "Western acupuncture Silom." All three ranked #1 within three months — alongside a fully optimised Google Business Profile with photos, accurate hours, address, and genuine customer reviews.
3. Content That Answers Real Patient Questions
Once the structure was solid, we moved to content — but not generic articles anyone could write. We started with keyword research that showed what patients in the area were actually searching for.
High-volume examples: "physiotherapy near me" (2,500+ searches/month), "chronic back pain treatment," "acupuncture for migraines." Every piece of content was written to answer a specific question — not to broadcast vague service claims. Google can tell the difference.
5-Month Results
- 13x traffic growth — from 101 clicks/month to 1,359 clicks in March 2026
- 632 keywords ranking on Google
- 216 keywords in the Top 3
- 14 keywords in the Top 3 specifically within Bangkok, including high-volume terms like "physiotherapy near me"
- #1 rankings for "physiotherapy Sathorn," "Western acupuncture Sathorn," "Western acupuncture Silom"
More importantly, this wasn't inflated by irrelevant traffic. Over 90% of clicks came from keywords with genuine service intent — people looking to book, not browse.
Lessons That Apply to Other Clinics
Local SEO Always Beats Broad SEO for Clinics
Trying to rank for "physiotherapy" nationally won't work in the short term — especially for a new clinic. Winning your neighbourhood first is the right move. Expanding to broader terms later, once you have local authority, is far easier.
Content Needs to Inform, Not Sell
Articles that rank quickly and hold their positions are the ones that genuinely answer patient questions. Not articles that drop "our services" into every third paragraph. Google's quality signals have matured well beyond keyword density.
Technical Foundations Cut the Time to Results
Clinics with slow websites, incomplete schema, or missing HTTPS take 2–3x longer to see the same outcomes. Investing in technical SEO in month one is investing in month three, four, and five.
What Comes Next: Scaling Beyond Month 6
We're now in month six and growth is still compounding. The next phase focuses on expanding to broader keyword clusters — building topical authority around treatment types like neck pain, office syndrome, and acupuncture for migraines — to win on more dimensions.
The six-month goal: grow from 1,359 clicks/month to 3,000–4,000 clicks/month and begin ranking for national-level terms like "physiotherapy" and "acupuncture," without losing focus on the local keywords that drive actual bookings.
